In SalonLife, you can view a detailed overview of any booking at any time. This means that besides the basic details (client name, service, time), the same view also gives you access to past booking history, additional services, products, payment information, discounts, and the booking log. In the guide below, we’ll give you a thorough rundown of where to find all of this and how to use it in your day-to-day work.
Where to See the Booking Overview

The booking’s detailed overview opens by clicking a booking, either in the calendar or in the bookings list. The window that opens shows all the information tied to that booking:
- Client details (name, contact details, etc.)
- The booking’s date, time, and duration
- Selected services (with duration and price)
- Products, if the client buys something in the salon or takes a product home
- Checkout, the total amount, and the choice of payment method
Changing Services and Duration
- Add or remove services: If a client wants an additional service (for example, a quick hair treatment alongside a new hairstyle), click the Add + button, and under Services, add or remove services from the existing service list, then save the change. The booking’s length automatically adjusts to match the total duration of the selected services.
- Changing the booking’s duration: Besides changing services, you can also change the duration manually, or extend or shorten the booking by hand in the calendar to whatever length you need.
Adding Products to a Booking
_2520(1).png)
If a client buys a product to use at home, or a gift card, for example, you can conveniently add it to the booking. This keeps all the information related to the sale and the service in one place:
- Select Add + on the overview screen and choose Product from the options that open.
- Find the product you want and confirm your choice.
- The system automatically adds the products to the booking’s total.
Discounts
In SalonLife, you can also add a discount to any booking if you’d like, from the Add + button-handy for things like promotions, returning-client discounts, or special occasions. Enter the discount as a percentage, and the system automatically deducts that percentage from the booking’s total.
Marking Payment at Checkout

On the booking’s checkout page, you should note how the client paid for the service:
- Send a payment link (you can send the client a payment link by SMS or email).
- Cash
- Card
- Gift card
- Ilukaart (if your salon accepts Ilukaart. Find out more HERE).
If no payment has been set, it’s shown with the Unpaid status. You can change the payment method and adjust amounts later in the same view, if you’d like.
Quick Booking History View, or the Client’s Previous and Next Upcoming Appointment
_2520(1).png)
The booking view shows how many days or weeks ago the client’s last visit was. It also shows whether they have any upcoming bookings:
- If it says << Previous: 3 days on the left, it means the client’s appointment was 3 days ago. Clicking that button opens the previous booking’s details.
- If it says Next 4 days >> on the right, it means the client has a new appointment booked in 4 days.
- If no upcoming appointment is shown, you can conclude that the client doesn’t have a new booking yet.
- This feature lets you conveniently move to a client’s past or upcoming bookings. This way, you can quickly compare which services or products a client has used before, and check whether a new booking has already been added.
Additional Booking Details
The booking overview also lets you see more detailed client information, the booking’s time, and the option to send an invoice (receipt):
- Client details: Shows the client’s contact details and general information.
- Date and time: Lets you fine-tune the booking’s time even further.
- Invoice: The system automatically creates an invoice for every booking. From here, you can send it to the client by email, download it as a PDF, or print it out if you’d like.
Notes
_2520(1).png)
One of beauty professionals' favorite features is the client notes feature, which lets you always keep important details about a client or a booking in mind. You’ll find it in the booking view by clicking the Notes button with the notepad icon in the top right corner.
There are two types of notes:
- Client notes: Client notes are visible to you and your colleagues for every one of that client’s bookings. This is the place to note the most important things you want to check every time.
- Booking notes: Booking notes, on the other hand, stay attached only to that specific booking. Here you can write down just the things that matter for that particular occasion.
- You can also upload photos when adding notes, for example of finished work or products you used.
TIP:
Clients themselves can’t see notes anywhere. However, if the Additional Info field is in use in online booking, clients can leave notes for the beauty professional, which are visible under the booking notes.
Booking Menu

In the top right corner of the overview, there’s a (III) menu button where you’ll find additional helpful features:
- History: Gives you an overview of the whole booking history, covering past and upcoming bookings.
- Info & Log: Shows an overview of changes and information related to the booking. For example, a log is created showing information about automatic notifications sent, payments received, or the booking’s status.
Quick Access to Booking Details
A booking’s detailed information is always just a few clicks away:
- Open the booking from the calendar or the bookings list.
- Check the basic details: client name, service, time, duration, and total.
- Add or change services, add products, apply discounts, and note payment methods.
TIP:
If you need to move a booking to a different day or time, you can simply drag it around in the calendar too. The updated information automatically shows up in the booking view.
And that’s a quick overview of a booking’s details. So next time you need to review or double-check a client’s visit, click the booking and you’ll find everything you need on one screen!
