Sometimes, you may want or need to see more detailed information about a specific booking. In this guide, we’ll take a closer look at how, and what kind of information, you can view about a booking in SalonLife.

When you open a booking, besides the usual booking and client detail view, there are three special features that make your work easier:

  • Notes
  • Booking History
  • Info & Log

These pages are visible only to your salon’s staff (i.e., logged-in users), not to clients.

Notes

You’ll find the notes for a booking when you open the booking and click the envelope icon in the top right corner. This opens the notes view, which shows two separate types of notes:

  1. Client Notes
    • These notes are always linked to a specific client.
    • For example, you can add the client’s allergies, special requests, or other information you want to remember at every visit.
    • The same information is also visible on the client’s profile (Clients → select the client → client details).
  2. Booking Notes
    • These apply only to that one specific booking.
    • Add things here like a short overview of the service or product(s) used during that particular visit, or note whether the client wants something different next time.
    • If a client has left a comment in the additional info field when booking online, it also appears under the booking notes.
    ‍
TIP:
If a booking has notes, a small blue message icon is shown next to it in the calendar. This helps you quickly spot that there’s extra information to review before starting the service.

Booking History

You’ll find the "Booking History" setting by clicking a booking and selecting the three-bar (III) icon in the top right corner. Then click the History button, and on the page that opens you’ll see a combined overview of all of that client’s bookings:

  • At the top, a number shows how many bookings are registered for that client in total (both in the past and in the future).
  • Below that, you’ll see past and upcoming bookings:
     • The booking’s date and time
     • Who served or is serving them (staff member’s name)
     • The booking’s status (e.g., booked, completed, etc.)

Clicking any past booking opens that same booking’s details (including its notes or info and log). This makes it easy to quickly compare a client’s past services and booking details.

Info & Log

__wf_reserved_inherit

You’ll find the Info & Log setting by clicking a booking and selecting the three-bar (III) icon in the top right corner. Then click the Info & Log button, and on the page that opens you’ll find very detailed information about the actions taken during that specific booking:

  • Who created the booking, and when
  • Which automatic notifications have been sent (confirmation email, reminder, etc.)
  • Who has changed the booking, and when (for example, changing the time or service)
  • What statuses the booking has had
  • Whether and when the system has updated the booking (for example, when a booking automatically switched to "completed" status)

All of this is useful if questions come up, such as, "Did the confirmation email go out to the client?" or "Who dragged the booking to a new time?" "Info & Log" gives you a clear overview of every step.
‍
A thorough overview of a booking helps your salon provide consistent, personal service to clients. "Notes" gives you quick information about a specific visit or a lasting fact about a client, "Booking History" lets you track every visit, and "Info & Log" confirms what changes were made, and when.
