If a client has made a payment but the money isn’t in your business’s bank account yet, there’s usually no reason to worry. The money moves in two stages.

1. Client → Stripe (Instant)

The client’s card payment reaches your Stripe account almost instantly. SalonLife itself never holds the money — all processing goes through Stripe (the payment processor).

2. Stripe → Your Bank Account (Here’s Where the Wait Happens)

a) Are Your Payouts Automatic or Manual?

  • Automatic — the money is transferred on its own on a regular basis (daily / weekly / monthly)
  • Manual — you need to initiate the payout yourself, otherwise the money stays waiting in your Stripe account

Check and change the setting here: Apps → Sales & POS → Payouts → Refresh. A Stripe form opens, but you stay on the SalonLife page the whole time — you’re never redirected anywhere else.

b) The Payout Waiting Period Comes From the Law

SalonLife has set a minimum waiting period for payouts across every salon. That minimum comes from your country’s regulations — in some countries, the law requires payouts to be held back a couple of business days. Stripe automatically applies whatever minimum is in force in your country. The money usually reaches your bank within 1–2 business days.

⚠️ Your Very First Payout Takes Longer

Your first payout comes with a 7–14 day waiting period (up to 30 days in some countries). This is a Stripe risk-review requirement that can’t be avoided:

  • the period starts from your first successful payment
  • it’s there to prevent fraud and keep your account secure
  • it’s a one-time thing — every payout after that moves at the usual speed (1–2 business days)

Where Can You See When the Money Moves?

Apps → Sales & POS → Payouts shows you when an amount has been paid out and when the next one is scheduled. The amounts shown are already net amounts (service fees, including VAT, have already been deducted). If you have more than one payout profile, make sure you pick the right one.

In short: the money moves from the client to Stripe instantly, and from Stripe to your bank usually within 1–2 business days. If the money isn’t there yet, check whether your payouts are automatic or manual — and remember that your very first payout takes 7–14 days because of the security review.
