No. SalonLife doesn’t support a classic installment or buy-now-pay-later plan, where the client pays for the service in multiple parts over a longer period.

You can, however, set up different prepayment and “Pay Later” options, which give clients the flexibility to pay for their booking right away during online booking, or later on-site at the salon.

What Does “Pay Later” Mean in SalonLife?

“Pay Later” doesn’t mean an installment plan or paying an invoice afterward.

It simply means the client:
• doesn’t have to pay upfront the moment they book online
• can instead pay for the service later, on-site at the salon

In other words:
• “Pay Now” = the client pays upfront at the end of online booking
• “Pay Later” = the client pays on-site at the salon

Where Do You Find These Settings?

Go to: Apps → Wallet → General Settings

From there, you can choose the conditions under which prepayment is required or optional.
‍

What Prepayment Options Are Available?

1. Prepayment Is Optional

With this setting, the client can choose at the end of online booking:
• to pay upfront right away
• or select “Pay Later” to pay on-site at the salon

All bookings are confirmed immediately, and clients aren’t sent any prepayment reminders.

This is the most flexible option.

2. Prepayment Is Required for Online Bookings

With this setting, the client has to make a prepayment to confirm an online booking.

The “Pay Later” option isn’t shown.

If the client doesn’t make the prepayment within the given time, the booking is canceled automatically.

3. Prepayment Is Required for Absolutely Everyone

In this case, prepayment is required:
• for online bookings
• and for bookings you or your staff add to the calendar

Here too, the client isn’t shown the “Pay Later” option.

4. Prepayment Is Required Only for New Clients

With this setting:
• new clients must make a prepayment
• returning clients may see the “Pay Later” option

You can also set the number of successful visits after which a client counts as a returning client.

If you’d like, you can also set a rule so that if a returning client misses their appointment because they forgot, prepayment becomes mandatory for them again.

5. Prepayment Is Required Only for Higher-Priced Services

With this setting, prepayment only becomes required when:
• the booking’s total exceeds the amount you’ve set

For example:
• services up to 50 € → “Pay Later” available
• services over 50 € → prepayment required

Exception for Last-Minute Bookings

If you’d like, you can also set an exception so that:
• for last-minute bookings, prepayment becomes optional
• and the client sees the “Pay Later” option

For example:
• bookings made more than 24 hours in advance → prepayment required
• bookings made less than 24 hours before the appointment → payment on-site allowed

This can help you fill last-minute openings quickly.
‍

TIP:

If you want to cut down on cancellations and no-shows without making the whole system too strict, a common combination is:
• prepayment required only for new clients
or
• prepayment required only for higher-priced services

That way, booking stays convenient for returning clients, while higher-risk bookings are better protected.
