Did you know that besides bookings, you can also add breaks to your SalonLife calendar? This lets you keep all your workday information and planned activities in one place, and manage even more precisely when you’re available to clients and when you’re not.

A break is for your salon’s internal use only-clients simply see that time as "unavailable."

Below, you’ll find instructions on how to create a break, how to add a description to it, and how to copy that same break to other days later if you’d like.

Adding a Break

  1. Select a suitable time in the calendar
Click the time in the calendar view where you want to add a break. If you can’t hit the exact time right away, that’s fine. You can drag the break to the right time by hand later.
  2.
  3.    Create the break
From the menu that opens, select Create New Break. A window opens where you can set:
    • The break’s duration (choose whichever quick option suits you, or enter an exact time yourself)
    • A description: feel free to note whether this is just a lunch break, a training session, a quick trip to the parcel locker, or something else. Clients don’t see this information, but you and your colleagues do.
  4.    Confirm the break‍
    • Save the break you’ve created. If you notice the break landed slightly in the wrong spot, or you want to change its duration, drag it:
      • To move it up or down: click the break and hold the mouse button down, then drag it to the right time.
      • To extend or shorten it: grab the break’s bottom edge and drag it to the time you want.

Copying a Break

If you’ve created a break on one workday and want to copy that day’s setup to other dates too, you can do this nicely by copying the whole workday’s schedule.

  1. Click the button next to the date in the calendar
Select the day in the calendar whose schedule you want to copy.
  2. Select "Copy Schedule"
From the menu that opens, select Copy Schedule.
  3. Select "Day" or ''Week''
Selecting Day from the options that open copies that day’s work schedule along with its breaks. You can, of course, also copy a whole week, and use the Select Days option to immediately pick several days where you want to copy that day’s work schedule and breaks.
  4. ‍Paste the copied day or week
Once you’ve nicely copied the day or week, click the button next to the date you want in the calendar, and you should now also see the Paste Day Here or Paste Week Here button at the bottom, which you can click to paste the copied work schedule and break.
