The number of bookings can grow quickly, especially if you have a lot of clients and staff members. That’s why it’s worth knowing how to easily search and filter bookings, so you can find exactly the ones you need. Below, we describe the options SalonLife offers for searching and fine-tuning your filters.

Simple, Quick Search

On the Bookings page, the first quick search option is to type into the search field:

  • A staff member’s name
  • A client’s name

Entering either one shows all the bookings that match that criterion.

More Detailed Filtering

The Bookings page also has a Filter button, which opens a wide range of filtering options when clicked. This lets you easily find the bookings you need by filtering them by time range, service, or status.

Filter Options:

  • Booking creation date
    • Use this filter when you want to see bookings created within a certain time range (e.g., made by a client online, or added to the calendar by a staff member).
    • Also useful when you want to analyze when a new wave of bookings came in.
  • Booking date
    • Use this filter when you need an overview of when a service actually took place, or was supposed to take place.
    • Examples:
      • Which bookings took place during April?
      • When did a client last visit for a service?
  • Services and service categories
    • Helps you find a booking by a specific service or category.
    • Also useful when you want to gauge how popular a specific service is.
  • Staff
    • Filter to see either everyone’s bookings, or just those of one or several specific staff members.
    • A good way to check how full a staff member’s schedule is, or get an overview of their booking history.
  • Statuses
    • Useful when you want to show only bookings with a certain status, for example:
      • No Show - find all the clients who didn’t show up.
      • Canceled - whether the client or the salon canceled the booking.
      • Completed/Upcoming - bookings that have already happened, or are still ahead.

Once the filter is open, select the criteria you want, then click the Apply Filter button. Your booking list automatically adjusts to match the conditions you chose.
‍

TIP:
If you use a lot of different filter combinations (for example, a specific staff member’s bookings for a certain service, only from last month), it’s worth remembering those same filters, so you can quickly reapply the search the next time you have a similar need.

Effective booking filtering saves time and keeps your work running smoothly. Search for bookings by client or staff name, or use the filter button for more options.

If you want to analyze your salon’s bookings in more depth, use the different search and filtering options on the bookings page. This way, you always have a complete overview of what’s happened, what’s happening now, and what’s still ahead.
