Setting up a payment profile lets you accept online payments in SalonLife, take prepayments, and receive payouts directly to your bank account.

Grab your ID card and set aside a few minutes to get your payment profile ready. Once that’s done, you’re all set to start accepting payments securely.

Before you can use online payments, you first need to create and set up a payment profile. If you’ve already done that, you can skip Step 1.

Step 1: Create a Payment Profile

Go to: Apps → Online Payments & Invoices → (+)

Then fill in your business’s basic details:

• business name
• registration code
• country of business
• VAT number (if you have one)

Once all the required fields are filled in, confirm the creation of your payment profile.

Step 2: Set Up Your Payment Profile
‍

After creating your payment profile, go to: Apps → Online Payments & Invoices → Click on your payment profile (example: Triinu FIE)

On the Wallet page, you can then click: Add Details. There, you’ll need to add the required payout and business information.

Payout information includes things like:

• bank account details
• payout-related information
• account representative’s details
• business address and contact information
• a new bank account
• changes to an existing bank account

Any payouts to your account will go to whichever bank account you add here.

Next, the wallet setup process opens, where you’ll fill in the required business and payout details step by step.

1. Accept the Wallet Terms

First, you’ll see the wallet’s terms of use.

• check the box “I have read and agree to the terms of service”
• click “Next”

2. Add and Confirm Your Phone Number

Next, you’ll be redirected to Stripe’s secure environment.

Stripe is SalonLife’s official payment partner, and all online payments and payouts go through it.

Enter:

• your phone number
• confirm your phone number with the SMS code

3. Choose Your Business Type

Next, choose your business’s legal form.

Choose the option that matches how you’re officially registered:

• if you’re a sole proprietor (FIE) → select “Sole proprietor”
• if you have a private limited company (OÜ) → select “Company”

After that, an additional option opens where you can specify your business form in more detail.

The following options are usually the right fit for beauty professionals:

• “Registered partnership”
Choose this if you have a standard Estonian OÜ. It’s the most common option for beauty salons, studios, and beauty professionals.

• “Private company”
You can use this if Stripe doesn’t accept the previous option, or if your business structure is less standard. For a typical Estonian OÜ, though, “Registered partnership” is still the better choice.

• “Unregistered partnership”
Estonian beauty professionals usually won’t need this one.

• “Other / not sure”
Use this only if you’re unsure of your business form, or none of the other options fit.

Note! If you have a classic Estonian OÜ, “Registered partnership” is usually the right choice.

4. Enter Your Business and Representative Details

Next, fill in the required details, such as:

• business name
• business address
• registration code
• VAT number (if you have one)
• business representative’s details
• phone number
• email address

For a sole proprietor (FIE), ownership isn’t asked for, since as a sole proprietor you own 100% of the business.
For an OÜ, you’ll also need to state your ownership percentage. Stripe also asks how large a share of the business belongs to you.

If the business has several owners, Stripe asks for additional information about everyone who owns at least 25% of it. You’ll also need to list any executives.

For example:
• if you own 100% of the business, add only your own details
• if the business is split 50/50 between two people, add both owners’ details
• if the business has several shareholders, add everyone who owns at least 25%
• if the business also has an executive, add their details too

Clicking “Add another owner” lets you enter a second owner’s:
• first and last name
• email address

‍

Note! Stripe may verify this information against the Estonian Business Register, so make sure it’s accurate and matches your business’s official records.

‍

5. Add Your Payout Bank Account

As part of the wallet setup, you’ll also need to add a bank account to receive:

• online payments
• prepayments
• other payments made through online payments

From there, you can later:

• add a new bank account
• change an existing bank account
• update your payout details

6. Choose Your Field of Activity and Add Your Website

Next, choose your field of activity, or the type of service you provide. This helps Stripe and SalonLife understand what services you offer and ensures your payments are processed correctly.

Pick the field of activity that matches your work as closely as possible.

Recommended options for beauty professionals:

• Hairdresser / barber / hair extensions
Select: “Hairdressing or barber salons”

• Massage therapist
Select:  “Massage salons”

• Nail technician / lash technician / brow technician / cosmetologist / makeup artist / permanent makeup artist
Select “Other personal services”

• Spas and larger wellness services
Select “Health and beauty spa”

‍

Adding Your Website

Next, add your website address.

You could add, for example:

• your own website
• your SalonLife.com profile link
• your online booking link
• a social media link, if it represents your services professionally

If you don’t have a separate website yet, your SalonLife.com profile link or online booking link works just as well.

7. Add Your Payout Bank Account

Next, add the bank account that will receive payments and prepayments made through SalonLife.

Fill in the following fields:

• Currency
In Estonia, you’ll usually select “EUR - euro”

• Bank account country
Select the country where your bank account is held, e.g. “Estonia”

• IBAN
Enter your bank account number in IBAN format

• Confirm IBAN
Enter the same IBAN again to confirm it

‍

Note!
All client payments, prepayments, and payouts will be sent to whichever bank account you add in your payout settings. Before continuing, double-check carefully that the IBAN is correct.

‍

8. Confirmation and Identity Verification

‍

Make sure all the required fields are filled in. Then click “Confirm.” By confirming, you agree that the information you’ve provided is complete and correct.

After confirming, you’ll be taken through identity verification. For added security, you’ll need to verify your identity using a government-issued ID document.

If you’ve added other users under your business in the role of owner or responsible person, they’ll need to go through identity verification as well.

  1. Click “Agree and continue.”
  2. Review the information you’ve entered.
  3. Click “Start verification.”
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions and verify your identity using your document.

‍

Note! To fully activate your payment profile, all required fields must be completed and confirmed.

Some fields may be requested due to security requirements or those of the payment service provider.
‍

TIP:
We recommend double-checking your business and bank account details before entering them. This helps you avoid problems later with activating payouts or online payments.

Once your payment profile is set up, you can start using SalonLife’s online payments, prepayments, and automatic payouts.
