Sometimes you may need to delete a workday you’d previously opened (in other words, turn that day back into a day off). SalonLife’s calendar makes this as simple as possible. Below, you’ll find the steps for how to do it, and how to tell whether a day has been added to your work schedule or not.
All your workdays are based on the work schedule visible in the Calendar view. Clients can book any day that’s marked as a workday. Now, if your plans change, or you simply want to enjoy a day off, you can easily close that workday so no one can book an appointment on it.
TIP:
Changing your work schedule doesn’t mean you have to create a whole new schedule. It’s enough to turn that specific day back into a day off, and the calendar will stop showing it as a workday.
Step-by-Step Guide

- Open the Calendar
First, go to the Calendar page. There you’ll find an overview of all dates and existing work schedules. - Go to the day you want
Find the date in the calendar view whose workday you want to close completely. - Click the date
• Click the date, and a menu opens.
• If it’s already a workday, a Make Day Off button is shown at the top of the menu. - Select "Make Day Off"
As soon as you click Make Day Off, that day is removed from your work schedule. The calendar stops showing that day as a workday, and clients can’t book appointments on it.

Good to Know
- Bookings, breaks, and deleting a workday:
• If bookings were already added to a workday and you then delete that workday, the bookings (including breaks) still stay on that date. You should cancel the bookings separately, if you want to. - Changing the start/end time instead:
• Before deleting a day, you’re free to just change its duration instead-for example, drag it to start later or end earlier.
• But if you decide the day should be completely free, the Make Day Off button described above removes the whole workday at once. - Check your changes:
After removing the workday, check your calendar to make sure. The day should now be marked as a day off.
TIP:
If you want to turn that same day back into a workday in the future, just click that day and select Mark as Workday from the menu.
You’ve now successfully removed the day you wanted from the schedule, and it’s marked as a day off. You can use the same trick for both your own schedule and your staff members', so that only the workdays when a beauty professional can actually see clients stay open.
