It makes sense to add every product to a booking that’s used up while performing the service (i.e. supplies) or sold to the client (i.e. retail goods). This keeps an accurate record of when and which products were sold or used during a service. On top of that, the system automatically calculates the totals, which helps keep both your accounting and your stock levels in order.
Step-by-Step Guide

- Open the booking
- Go to either the Bookings page or open the Calendar view.
- Select the specific booking you want to add products to.
- Click the button to add products
- In the booking’s detail view, you’ll find a “+ Add” button.
- Click the Products button, which opens a list of all the products you already have in SalonLife.
- Select the right products
- Search the list for the product you need.
- Check the box next to the product you’ve selected.
- If you’d like, you can select several different products at once.
- Click Save.
- Confirm the price and quantity
- The booking view shows the products you just added, along with their prices.
- If you want to change the quantity or price, click the amount/quantity field at the end of that product’s row.
- When the toggle is on, the system automatically calculates the price when you change the quantity (e.g. 3 products × €5 = €15).
- When the toggle is off, you can set the price manually (e.g. 2 products totaling €7.50).
- Save your changes
- To confirm the changes, click Save again.
- The system adds the product’s cost to the booking’s overall total.
- Removing products from a booking
- If needed, go back to the same Add or Remove Products view.
- Uncheck the product you no longer want and save.
- The cost of the product removed from the booking is automatically deducted from the total.

Useful Tips:
Supplies
Marking supplies on a booking helps you keep better track of how many products are used up in the course of performing a service. This information also feeds into inventory management, so your stock levels stay accurate.
Changing quantities
For a larger purchase (e.g. a client buys several shampoos at once), you can quickly select the quantity you want and let the system calculate the total price.
Custom prices
If you want to give the client a discount, turn off the product’s “lock icon” and enter the discounted price manually.
Gift cards
If you sell special salon gift cards, they can also be treated as a product or as a separate feature (depending on your salon’s settings). Here, you can add a gift card just like any other product, and the system shows the final amount on the booking.
Adding products to bookings keeps both your sales process and your service costs visible in one place. Regularly updating your stock levels and adjusting prices lets you offer clients flexible options while keeping an accurate view of your finances.
